Our vision of Health
Improving access to whole food along with Community Integrated support in nutrition understanding and mind body healing alternatives TOGETHER provides the foundational support necessary for lasting health transformation and improved health outcomes~
First, a HUGE thank you to our grant sponsors DPHHS for a grant called “Food Farmacy”that got this whole project rolling and Share Our Strength “No Kid Hungry”~
Both grants are helping to more fully support this cohort of 10 food insecure patients struggling with chronic disease management.
Patients living with chronic disease in underserved communities like Belgrade, MT face significant challenges to eating healthy. To support them and improve health outcomes I believe, we need to integrate more community resources into the health care setting. The “prescription” for whole food or “Food Rx” is a promising platform for that community-linked intervention since having access to quality food is a vital component of health. Our partners span from university faculty and grad students to yoga teachers and farmers.
A heart felt thank YOU to our ever-growing list of PARTNERS: Community Health Partners Belgrade 501c3, No Kid Hungry, Montana State University Bozeman (Nutrition/Dietetic Depts) Towne’s Harvest Garden, Gallatin College Bozeman (Culinary Arts Dept) Gallatin Valley Food Bank, Community Harvest, Open and Local, Community Food and Agriculture Coalition, Amaltheia, Town and Country Foods Belgrade, Costco, Root Cellar Foods, Belgrade High School, Lowe’s Bozeman, ACE Belgrade, Massage Wellness, 4 Corners Yoga and SNAP Fitness Belgrade. Working together we are far more impactful.
The goal with this project is to build a community strong holistic model of healthcare for low income patients. One that improves not only accessibility to quality food but health coaching, cooking, diet, nutrition, gardening and mind, body, spirit alternative healing classes to more fully support, educate and empower patients on their road to optimal health.
Cheers to bridging some of the gaps in healthcare together!
