Infused water makes staying hydrated fun!

One of the easiest ways we can support our cells is to drink water. As we roll into summer and temperatures start to rise it’s important to stay hydrated but that doesn’t have to be boring.

Infused water’s takes hydration to a new level!

Nearly anything goes with herbs, fruit, veggie combos but here’s a few recipes to get you started. All you need to get started is a 32 ounce container, mason jars work great because they have a securely fitting lid. Once you add ingredients to vessel of your choice cover with water (ideally filtered unless on a well) cover and store in refrigerator overnight. Just add ice and serve!

Watermelon Cucumber Mint

5-7 watermelon chunks

5-7 cucumber slices

2 sprigs of mint

Raspberry Lime

1/2 cup raspberries

5 lime slices

Apple Ginger Lemongrass/celery

5 slices apple

5 slices ginger

2 stalks lemongrass or celery

As a general rule, unless you have a heart condition that requires fluid restrictions a good goal to shoot for is 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day. Obviously more as needed if you are sweating profusely.

Common signs of dehydration include:

Thirst

Dizziness

Confusion

Headache

Vomiting

Cramps

It was through all of this that she realized her true passion and where she could serve at her highest capacity was working with patients on how to prevent and reverse chronic disease.

As a functional medicine, holistic RN Amber strives to bring in the best evidence based tools and resources from both conventional and alternative schools of thought. She is dedicated to continuing her learning to stay up to speed with the latest research and trends and has built her practice around educating and empowering patients to be proactive with their health.

Most patients come to Amber through a referral network of practitioners in various medical and alternative settings including MD’s, FNP’s, Acupuncturists, Dentists, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists and Yoga Teachers… who wish to support their patients in this way but don’t have the time, education or resources to do this effectively.

The functional medicine addition to client care seems to be the missing piece of a true wellness model. It becomes a collaborative movement too, working together to promote wellness in our respective communities. It expedites healing through deep understanding and promotes life long transformation.
